Summer crush
• photo project, 2025
some people pass through our lives like a summer storm — sudden, soft, and gone before we understand what changed. this project is about those brief encounters.
the ones that stay, long after they leave. photographed during the still heat of july, julye, briefly traces the shape of memory through southern figs, childhood smells, orchids wrapped in cellophane — symbols of things once given, once felt.
these are moments we don’t expect to matter: a hand grazing yours, a sentence you replay for years, the taste of something from when you were small. and yet, they shift us. the name julye han holds dual meaning. it belongs to the brand, but in korean, han also speaks to a quiet, enduring sorrow — a longing that lingers. this work lives in that space: where the beautiful and the unfinished meet. each image is a fragment. a whisper. a letter never sent. a soft attempt to remember something that didn’t last, but shaped everything after.
